Protecting your data is a very important goal for every business; and turning on Two Step Authentication for Xero can go a long way to ensuring piece of mind. See the above video for more information on how it works, and how to set it up.
Two step authentication is used by many online services (such as internet banking) to provide an additional layer of security. It significantly reduces the risk of someone gaining access to your account if they have managed to obtain your login and password through a phishing attack, malware or simply guessing your password.
Here's how it works:
- enter your user email and password on the login screen
- enter a unique 6-digit code from the Google Authenticator app on your phone

To get started follow the steps in the video; and download the Google Authenticator to your mobile phone.
- Install Google Authenticator for Android devices, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, and BlackBerry devices.
- Install Windows Authenticator for Windows Phones.
